Paris, Her, and the Promise of the Future
A story of a discovered corner of happiness, and a letter we promised to write to our future selves.

That day, Paris kept our little secret. We sought refuge from the bustling streets in a rustic, tucked-away restaurant near the heart of the City of Light — hidden from curious glances, yet radiating an intimacy that promised extraordinary cuisine and lured us in. Sara held my hand as we walked toward our table, nestled in the corner of the room, surrounded by the subdued light of small lamps.
Her indigo blue dress flowed softly down her body, merely highlighting the contours of her graceful figure in strategic places, adding mystery to her elegance. Her long brown hair was casually swept up and fastened with a long wooden clip, like a geisha, revealing a face made to captivate attention. I knew, in every fiber of my being, that she was solely mine.
The dinner unfolded in deep conversation and plans for the future. We lined up ideas about buying a house, imagined every corner of its decoration, dreamed of a life we had yet to build. And then, with that curious expression on her face and a dreamy gaze fixed directly on me, she mentioned something that instantly warmed my heart: the idea of a letter we could write to our future selves.
I couldn’t resist; the proposal was too enticing to decline. Of course, I agreed without hesitation. In that moment, her hand gently settled on mine, and that touch said more than any words could.

“I think it would be fun to read and see how much we’ve changed!” she said, her eyes full of the sparkle of an adventure through time:

These are the moments. Those moments you remember for a lifetime. Moments that engrave themselves deeper than words, promising eternity in transience, forever woven into the tapestry of our shared existence.
Promising eternity in transience.
